'Alan Blackstone Antiquarian'

Worshipful Brother Alan Blackstone, P.Pr G. Reg,  the Secretary of St Austin`s Lodge no 479 has recently been honoured by being elected as a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland.
This Society, the oldest antiquarian society in Scotland was founded in 1780 ,incorporated by Royal Charter in 1783 and has its headquarters in the National Museums of Scotland in Edinburgh.
Admission to the society is by election only and suitable candidates must be supported by two existing Fellows and following the publication of his latest book which evolves around a number of Scottish historical figures, Alan`s nomination was proposed by a former head of a Civil Service Department and a Scotsman.  
Election's  take place annually at the Annual General Meeting held on St. Andrews Day (30th November) when existing Fellows vote whether to accept a new fellow into the society and Alan was in attendance on the day meeting with the Director and Committee members of the Society after the meeting and receiving their congratulations.
